You may notice something a little different on my blog well that’s because I’ve had a bit of a makeover and have (finally) invested in my very own domain name which is one of the name reasons for my lack of posting.I’m back to share with you some of my current favourite lippies that have been on rotation all through Spring/Summer. I like to go for nudes with hints of pinks and peaches when it starts to get warmer.

I must have mentioned this lipstick so many times on my blog but out of all the lipsticks, I’m about to mention this is the one that will last the longest. If you haven’t tried this brand before then I would say a good place to start are with these lipstick as they appeared around the same time as the BarryM Lip kits. I can’t personally say they are better than the BarryM ones but after reading so many comparison posts on which drugstore lip kit to try first this was a real winner with me and I’m so glad I managed to give these a try as I want all the shades now. I won’t repeat myself too much as I have a full review on these lip kits here.
My love for these lipsticks will probably never end until I have all of the shades, when NYX Cosmetics appeared in Boots I’m sure I’m not the only one that went crazy for this brand, so when I was looking for something in-between pink/peach this product came in mind as I swatched ‘Stockholm’ I knew it would be my ideal everyday shade. NYX Cosmetics Soft Matte Lip Cream ‘Istanbul’ is a true girly light pink shade, which looks really nice with pale skin, as this was my first pink choice for when I think of spring. These matte liquid lipsticks are different to bullet lipsticks, which is why I prefer them as they glide on the lips so comfortable and creamy and then dry matte instead of just applying matte that can leave my lips feeling dry. They are so pigmented with colour that one layer will be enough but you can add more without it looking tacky making it easy to apply with the sponge tip but you can always use a lip liner for precise application. These work very well with food and drink with no smears or having to worry about it ending up on your chin and with how affordable these are can you blame me for building up the collection.
I bought this lipstick so long ago when I got obsessed with Kate 107 in autumn I thought I’d give some other shades a try which is when this peach shade caught my eye. I will admit I don’t use this one as often as I need to make sure my lips are completely smooth and this really clings to dry patches which isn’t a good look. Other than the whole matte clinging to my lips issue it really is a summery shade, which I will always use in S/S.
I got this lipstick in a Birchbox last year and loved the colour straight away, as I knew this was going to be a lipstick that I will wear all year round. Model Co is not a brand I wouldn’t discover myself but I’m glad I have as I love their brow gel which is a good alternative to Benefit’s Gimme Brow so I had high hopes that I would love this lipstick too. The shade ‘Kitty’ (such a cool name btw) is very close to my natural lip colour which I know most people won’t like but this doesn’t bother me as I like to use this shade if I’m in a rush and I can quickly add something to my lips i.e. making it great for work. This claims to be party proof but I wouldn’t say it’s the most long lasting lipstick but it does feel nice and moisturising on my lips.
I love discovering new shades as I’m a lipstick junkie so what’s your favourite shades for spring/summer?
