When I saw that Lush Nottingham was doing an event I thought YES!! FINALLY! honestly, you don’t understand how long I’ve wanted them to host an event for us Notts bloggers. Lush are one of my favourite brands and I’ve been using their products for some years now as I have some posts dedicated to dry skin/eczema prone skin where you can read here and which products I like to use from this brand, not to mention the perks of it all being natural. I even managed to visit Lush’s very own huge store in Oxford Street which you can read about my haul here.
We were greeted with warm welcomes as we headed into the store and blasted with the ever so strong signature Lush scent that hits your nostrils when your one foot away from the door. As this event was on a Friday night straight after work I hadn’t even had the chance to get some dinner so when they presented us with sparkling fruit water and the tastiest doughnuts ever (I think they are better than Krispy Kremes) from Doughnotts aka The Nottingham Doughnuts Co which went down a treat.
We met with all the lovely friendly members of staff throughout the night as you made your way over to different stations. The first station I went to was the Bath Bomb/Shower Gels as these are my most used products from Lush, I got chatting away about which products are my favourite and what other products they’d recommend for dry skin which is It’s Raining Men shower gel which contains the natural ingredient Honey, perfect for making your skin soft and I loved how it felt on my hand as it didn’t give much of a lather due to it being SLS free so this is great for people with eczema. After a lovely demonstration which resulted in my hands being soft all night I moved along to the makeup section.
I really wanted to have a chat about skincare because I just love obsessing over skincare products but I never got the chance as it was always busy. I’m sure I could pop in and get the chance whenever I want so I went to the makeup where I was just in time for a demonstration on the Ultrabland cleanser. WOW this cleanser is amazing and I need my hands on it, it completely removed the makeup smear on the back of her hand with one swipe of a cotton pad, what makes this incredible is the ingredient beeswax. It’s very similar to The Body Shop Camomile Cleansing Butter which is a favourite of mine.
I then went over to the Haircare and got talking about the Daddy-o shampoo I’ve always wanted to try from Lush, I have balayage blonde in my hair so I love to use silver/purple shampoos to keep it looking bright and I was kindly given a sample pot to try out. That’s one thing I love about Lush is they are always so kind in letting you try before you buy.
To end the night I had time for one more station and I wanted to learn more about the massage bars as I got one in my box at Christmas but was a little unsure if there were more uses. I have the Dusk Til Dawn massage bar which is in a cone shape which she showed me that it’s in the perfect shape to get dig deep into those tensions and to roll around the massage oils leaving your skin so soft.
I also picked up the Floating Island bath oil to give a try which I have used and loved how it made my skin feel afterwards as I was able to skip my moisturiser before bed because it left a nice soften residue behind on my skin which helped ease the itchiness from my eczema, the only downside to this oil was the rim it leaves behind around the sides of the bath but that’s easy to clean away and not a problem if you use a lot of Lush products you will know that sometimes they require you to clean the bath afterwards.
I would just like to thank Lush Nottingham for hosting this event and for the kindly gifting us with a goodie bag which included a few products of our choice. I got the Modfather bubble bar which is new from the Father’s Day range, a full-size pot of the Mask Of Magnaminty and the Think Pink bath bomb.
Feel free to check out the new Father’s Day range in store or on the website.
