Spring is officially here and I’ve changed my skincare/makeup routine. I feel like March has been a really good month for me as I have some great favourites featured in today’s post.
If you’re looking for an affordable good quality highlighter palette which gives you a really glowy finish then the Sleek Solstice Highlighter Palette is something you need to try, it gives you a really eye catching glow, which is something I was looking out for with three powders and one cream which are all really pigmentated. I have pale skin and this works really well on my complexion as the colours don’t look as scary as they do in the pan. It’s honestly just as good as high-end highlighters and great for only £10.
As soon as the lighter nights are in and it’s trying to get warmer, I say farewell to my beloved dark shaded lippies and in with the pinks, nudes & peaches. Nyx Soft Matte Lip Creams are one of my favourite products to wear on my lips as I have built up quite the collection with my newest addition ‘Stockholm’ which is this gorgeous pink/peachy shade. I’m honestly obsessed with wearing this shade right now as it looks so flattering and goes well with any eye look you have going on. These last so long on my lips even with food and drink, they claim to be a bit moisturising which is slightly true but I would also keep that lip balm handy for touch ups. My current favourite look is golden eyes (of course) with peach lips.
As I’m a fan of the Garnier Micellar Cleansing Water I thought I would give the new Cleansing Gel Wash a try after reading some reviews. This makes taking my makeup off so easily without the fuss as the oily texture gel just melts away any traces of my makeup with one wash, not to mention all the cotton wool pads I’m saving. It has a very clinical clean scent which I like and it works great for my dry sensitive skin. I’ve tried this with a full face of makeup and it still manages to remove it with 1-2 pumps. I love the packaging because of the pump dispenser making it easier and more manageable to get hold of the product.
Mario Badescu is a brand I’ve seen floating around the blogosphere for some time now but I never got round to looking it up and make a purchase as I just assumed it would be hard to get hold of until I was browsing Urban Outfitters on a Saturday afternoon and there it was, in store which I know is only temporary so this is why I had to make this purchase and try out the Facial Spray with Aloe Herbs and Rosewater seeing as it’s getting warmer and all. I was generally surprised how affordable this was costing only £7.50 which is great because I have found a new love for facial sprays recently. I want to see if they make a difference in my dry skin and also try out some setting sprays for my make up.
I love to use this after a shower as it instantly relieves the tight dry feeling and in the mornings/evenings for a hydration boost. It’s very lightly fragranced and calming on the skin, Rosewater and Aloe are good ingredients for calming redness and sensitive skin which is also another reason why I’ve wanted to give this a try. I’ve tried this as a setting spray for my makeup, only a few times but can’t fully report back if it’s any good yet.
This beautiful lilac shade ‘Prickly Pear’ by Barry M is my go to for spring and I’ll be wearing it religiously through Spring. I love the colour and the glossy gel-like finish it gives my nails.
