Lip kits are just everywhere at the minute, a few drugstore brands such as Make Up Revolution, Lottie London & Barry M just releasing them all around the same time and I can’t keep up with wanting to try them all. Lip kits are made of a lip liner and a liquid lipstick which is mainly matte as this duo all started with Kylie Cosmetics and despite these being a set you can purchase the liners and lipsticks individually.
Lottie London is a brand I’ve never really explored until these lip kits but that’s all about to change as I am definitely going be browsing through this stand at Superdrug more often, I already have a few items in mind.
I originally was going to pick up the Barry M Lip Kits but then I read Parie’s post here and well she completely persuaded me that I needed to give this one a try as I wanted to know which one would last as long and still feel comfortable.
I love the packaging from the design on the cardboard box you receive it in, too the packaging around the products, it’s black and white which makes it look sleek and simple which I love!. They come in four shades so far but I can imagine they will release more with how well they are taking off. I have the shade ‘Werk It’, a browny nude shade which stands out more on me because of my pale skin but either way I love it.
The liner applies smooth and very strong for lining the lips without the pencil cracking or flaking bits off in the process as it’s quite creamy with a great staying power. It also matches the shade of the lipstick very well and not lightly darker like most lip liners.
The final stage is to apply the lipstick, the formula of this lipstick just makes this apply so lovely as it glides onto your lips feeling velvety and lightweight with just one swipe as that’s all you need as it’s so pigmentated drying with a matte finish. With any matte product, I’d highly recommend scrubbing/moisturising your dead/dry skin sitting on your lips before applying as this will sink into all those cracks. This lasts comfortably throughout the day and it’s still there with food and drinks which is ideal so that’s a decent 8hr+ wear you get out of this which is pretty good for a liquid lipstick.
I can’t recommend this enough if you’re after an affordable lip kit costing £8.95 then give these a try as I know I’ll be buying more I have my eyes on you fleek and I’ll be for sure checking out some more Lottie London products as I don’t think they are raved about enough. Feel free to leave some recommendations in the comments if you love anything from this brand.
