On Saturday I was kindly invited to the SS17 Fashion Event at Intu Victoria Centre in Nottingham which was part of the Fashion Week. We all met up at Cafe Rizzoli where I was greeted by the lovely staff and joined the other bloggers with a Strawberry Bellini. We then all headed down to the South Square (where Next/Boots/John Lewis is) to get ready to watch the live styling session.
With a styling show happening every hour and this amazing Spring Summer themed display in the background, you can’t help but notice the latest trends that are going to be around this year. You have your typical pastel pinks and blues with floral patterns and lots of stripes which I’m loving this year and all the ruffles and frills but my personal favourite is the embroidery.
There was a lot of talk about making the most out of your outfits by transforming a daytime look to a nighttime look. As for the men you can now show off your double denim and ditch the smart shirts under your blazers because thin long sleeve polos are the new replacement.
This skirt is from River Island
This outfit is my personal favourite, this black maxi dress if from Superdry
For the second part of the event, we were very generously gifted an intu gift voucher which came with a fashion challenge to find a piece of clothing, shoes or accessories/beauty which will suit your personal taste for this years SS17. We had just under an hour to search the shops in the intu shopping centre. My challenge was Nautical Stripes which was perfect for me as like I’ve mentioned before, Stripes is my thing this year. We browsed through your typical fashion shops such as Topshop, River Island, and Dorothy Perkins. Quiz Clothing is sort of a newish shop which has opened up in Vic centre and I’ve never been in their, but I’m so glad I did because I wouldn’t have found this beaut if I didn’t. A classic pastel blue striped shirt with the added bonus of some embroidery flowers, making it so on trend.
There is also a little competition going if you would like to win a £50 intu gift card, then all you have to do is share a flatlay or a selfie of your favourite SS17 trend on Instagram using the hashtag #intuspringstyle. For more info head over to their page @intuvictoriacentre
After the mad shopping session, we all met up at Handmade Burger Co which can be found on the ground floor in the newly opened food court. It was really nice to see what everyone else managed to find in their challenges as we did a little show and tell whilst waiting for our food and drinks. I’m not really a burger fan but I did have an amazing sweet chilli burger.
We were then all left to go our separate ways, I just want to let the intu team know that I had an amazing time and I am truly grateful for the generous treats.
What’re your favourite trends for SS17?
