As the cold weather has made an appearance this has really made my skin suffer, just like it does every year as this is something I have to cope with as I have dry skin. I am always on the look out for skincare products to help me feel more comfortable during these dry, flaky skin problems. I like to look into thick creams to lather my face in overnight and anything with the word hydration just grabs my attention.
Indeed Labs is a brand that I’ve seen floating around the blogospire and something I’ve always wanted to try is the Indeed Labs Hydraluron Moisture Boosting Facial Serum. I got chatting to a blogger on Instagram who features this a lot in her skincare routine, she also suffers from Eczema which is how we got talking and recommended me to try this on my neck as well as my face. This product is always on offer at Boots so I waited for my chance to buy it then, as it is pretty pricey without the offer. The formula is a clear thin, lightweight gel and only a pea size will cover your face, as the main ingredient is hydraluron acid this is a key ingredient in boosting those hydration levels. I love that this is fast absorbing and instantly plumps my skin leaving it soft and prepped for my make up.
On days when I get flaky, itchy skin I need a product that is just going to get rid of this in an instant, I’ve been getting dry skin below my brows and that meant I couldn’t really wear any eyeshadow because it doesn’t look nice and defines all the dry area, I could just not wear any eyeshadow which I did some days but I have some pretty palettes that I just want to use. I looked at some Kiehl’s products as I’ve used there Ultra Facial cream before and I just remember it being great for dry skin until I saw the Ultra Facial Deep Moisture Balm, this is a rich thick balm that just melts on your skin which can be use as an overnight mask for a cream in the day if needed, just one overnight soak and all your flaky dry skin is cleared and your left with the most hydrated, softest skin you’ve ever had, sometimes I use this in the morning if I need a bit of a moisture boost. This has become my ultimate winter go to as it’s just that amazing.
Origins Drink Up Intensive Overnight Mask is like using a night cream but just a little bit better, I apply a thin layer which does feel a bit sticky at first but then it’s hardly noticeable as it soaks into my skin. In the morning I wash off the excess and I’m left with soft skin. If I have really dry skin then this would take a while for it to completely get my skin back to normal so I only use this on days when I feel my skin hydration levels starting to slip as this wouldn’t work well on flaky skin as don’t most night creams. I’ve only got the small size as I got it in a Christmas set but it’s lasted me so long so a little goes a long way. I do enjoy this product but I don’t think I would miss it enough to repurchase but we shall see when that day comes.
Lip balms are just a must have for me all year round but I rely on them a lot more in winter and I’m always on the hunt for rich nourishing balms that just instantly heal my cracked lips and one of my favourites that I like to use as a luxury overnight treatment is Nuxe Reve de Miel Lip Balm which comes in a little glass pot which just sits so pretty on your dressing table. This is a thick balm which will feel thick on the lips as to why I prefer it as a night treatment but can be used in the day if really needed, after a short time you will notice a massive difference in the condition of your lips. The next morning I’m left with the most softest lips as well as I notice how long lasting my lips are hydrated until they start to slowly go cracked again. If you suffer from dry, sore cracked lips then give this a try as you only need a small amount so it’s worth the investment.
