Party Season Glitter & Glam Inspiration

For those of you who have a few Christmas work do’s or events/night out’s planned I thought I would share with you some of my favourite products I like to use when I’m getting ready to go out. If your already reading this and your work do has been and gone then maybe use this for some Christmas Day look inspiration or even NYE.

Face

First of all I like to start my base off with a high coverage forumla and something that’s going to be long lasting, my go to foundation for this is Estee Lauder Double Wear, one of my all time favourite high coverage bases which stays in place, check out my full review of this here. I’m kind of pale anyway so I like to add a little colour to my face, this Collection Bronze Glow adds to the most natural looking colour to my complexion. For my cheeks I like to do a bit of contouring and this Sleek Face Form Kit in Light adds depth to my face, the highlighter in this palette is really glowy for my cheeks but for another alternative I love to use the MUA Undress Your Skin in Iridescent Gold as this is more of a budget friendly option but also the most pigmented shiniest highlighter I own, for £3 it’s amazing. Colorpop is a brand I finally got to try out this year, there highlighters are great for any occasion as they are highly pigmented and I find they work best with dabbing it on with my fingers, another favourite from my ever growing highlight collection is called Lunch Money.

Eyes

Eyes are my favourite part when it comes to make up, so many different colours to work with and when it’s party season that means all the shimmery shades you own come out. I’ve added a few new eye products to my collection, this year one being the Charlotte Tilbury Colour Chameleon in Champagne Diamonds, a sparkly gold which glides on the eyes so easily with it’s creamy texture but fast drying to make it long lasting, great if your on the go or don’t have a lot of time. If you want something a bit more affordable then try the Rimmel Kate Shadow Sticks in the shade Rose Gold which is a great dupe of the CT shadow pencils as these have the same 24 hour waterproof and smudge proof formal.

I get this out every A/W season for as long as I’ve owned it as it’s just a great product. For eyeshadow powders I’ve chosen two looks one this ColourPop metallic bronze shade which is just beautiful called ‘La La’ everything from ColourPop is just amazing, the pigmentation and long lasting formulas so I just had to feature this shadow pot, if you want to go for a darker eye look then I love to use this sparkly deep plum shade by No7 in the bottom shade from Forest Fruits Trio palette, so easy to blend and isn’t messy from the glitter plus it lasts for hours. Purples work well with green eyes which is why I’ve featured this, but feel free to go with any other dark shades you prefer. I have this in a single shade from there beauty calendar which I got last year. Pigment pots are something which are new to me but I’ve always eyed up the MAC ones until I saw NYX Cosmetics Pigments, I just had to get a little pot in the shade Old Hollywood for the party season, I’d recommend you pick up the glitter primer as this holds everything in place with no mess, I just pat on the glitter and it gives the most sparkliest shade you’ve ever seen, I’ve included pictures below to show you the finished look.

If you want something a bit simple then why not try some coloured liners my favourites to use are NYX Cosmetics Vivid Brights Liquid Eyeliners in the shade Violet but that’s because I love purple, there is probably a different shade you prefer. This goes well with the Maybeline Master Ink in Pure White, both liners are brush tip to easily draw those flicks.

Lips

A statement lip can be all it needs sometimes but most people like to make there eyes the statement which is why I have a mixture of reds and nudes. Christmas to me is just a classic red lip, it’s definately something I’ll be wearing anyway, I’ve done a post all about my Christmas reds here if you need some inspiration as nothing seems to have changed much in the red lipstick department from my collection. MUA Matte lipstick in Scarlet Siren, a bright cherry red which is my favourite to wear on nights out and it’s only £1, for that price it wears pretty well too, for a liquid mouse texture lipstick which has really long lasting power then Bourjois Velvet Rouge Edition in the shade Grand Gru which is more of a blue toned red and looks stunning on the lips. For the nudes a brand that I discovered last year Model Co Party Proof in the shade Kitty a very natural rose pink which is creamy and long lasting, if you prefer the mattes then try these ColourPop Ultra Matte Lippie Stix in the shade Button a peachy pink, a perfect everyday shade which I wore a lot in the summer but can still wear in the winter with a silver smokey eye.

Nails

I love to paint my nails all year round anyway but I feel like christmas time is when a lot more people make more of an effort with there nails. I’ve dug in my collection and pulled out all my festive glitters as I have so many but these are a few favourites which cover different colours depending your choice.

Models own is a favourite brand of mine as you can see with a choice of three the first shade is from the Disco Pants collection in the shade Roxy this gorgeous purple which is full of sparkle is sadly discontinued now which I’ve just found out now so sorry if you can’t get your hands on this one, another favourite from Models Own is this festive sparkly red in the shade Scarlett Red from there Glitter Collection, I’m currently wearing this and it reminds me of the ruby red slippers from Wizard of Oz. These next two shades are what I got from Birchboxes last year, Models Own Velvet Goth in the shade Obsidian which is a black shade filled with glitter but drys matte, theres no need for a top glossy coat as two coats of this is all you need for black chunky glittered polish, if your looking for something more girly then the shade Mineral Love from Ciate which is this pink golden glitter, this looks really pretty.

For the golds that I’ve picked out are Boots No7 in Sun Rays a top coat with large round glitter specks, a slivery gold glitter from Barry M in the shade Rose Quartz which is very simular to the gold specks in the No7 shade but with tiny bits of rainbow effect glitter, can be used as a top coat or two coats for fuller coverage, lastly is a polish my parents got me from there holidays which is Yes Love in Shiny Glitter which is a metallic effect micro gold glitter.

I haven’t decided my Christmas day nails yet but it will be one of these golds, I’m sorry I couldn’t link you to all these polish but you know how things are being limited edition or they get discontinued.

I hope this post has got you in the party season and has helped you in anyway, these are just my personal ideas and looks on how to dress this year.
